OVERVIEW
3D PRINTERS can be grouped in several ways: By technology: FDM, SLM, SLS, SLA, 3DP 3D printing and more. By type: single-color 3D printers and full-color 3D printers. By material: plastic 3D printers, powder 3D printers, metal 3D printers and more. 3D SCANNERS also come in several types: By technology: laser 3D scanning, structured light 3D scanning, photogrammetry 3D scanning and more. By type: handheld, desktop, tripod-mounted and automated 3D scanners.ABOUT US
3D Vietnams grew out of the 3DTECH center (since 2009). Our main activities are:
- 3D scanning, rapid prototyping with 3D printing, reverse engineering, mold design, concept design, and casting and mold analysis services.
- Supplying 3D technology equipment: 3D scanners and 3D printers.
- Supplying 3D technology consumables: 3D scanning spray, scanning markers, imported 3D printing filament and more.
- Supplying mechanical design and footwear software.
- Training in reverse engineering software, SolidWorks and more, tailored to business needs.
- Operation training and technology transfer for 3D scanners.
- Operation training and technology transfer for all kinds of 3D printers.

What 3D scanner and 3D printer operation training covers
Good operation training does more than teach which buttons to press. It helps users understand the principles, troubleshoot problems and use the equipment for real production work. The content is usually split by machine type:
| 3D scanner | 3D printer |
|---|---|
| Scanning principles, choosing the right scan mode | Printing technology principles (FDM, SLA, powder…) |
| Calibration and accuracy checks | Bed leveling, print head calibration, loading material |
| Surface preparation, placing reference markers | Slicing, choosing print orientation, setting up supports |
| Aligning, cleaning and exporting data | Monitoring prints, fixing common errors |
| Basic CAD modeling from scan data | Post-processing: removing supports, sanding, painting, UV curing |
| Caring for the equipment and calibration boards | Routine maintenance, material storage |
How to get the most out of training
- Train on your own real parts: practicing on products you actually make helps trainees apply what they learn right after the course.
- Build an in-house standard process: write down the steps and tested settings as a guide for future staff.
- Pick the right trainees: operators with a background in technical drawing or basic CAD learn faster.
- Get support after training: real problems tend to show up in the first few weeks, so have a channel for technical questions.
For many companies, the hardest part is turning scan data into a CAD model ready for production. While your team is still learning, you can use a reverse engineering service for urgent projects so production is not interrupted.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to learn to operate a 3D scanner?
Basic scanning is usually learned after a few hands-on sessions. To process data well and build accurate CAD models, though, trainees need more practice on many kinds of parts.
Can I learn to run a 3D printer without CAD skills?
Yes. Running a 3D printer with ready-made files does not require CAD. Knowing basic CAD, however, lets you edit and design parts yourself and get much more out of the machine.
Should training take place at our company or at a training center?
On-site training lets you learn directly on your own equipment and products. Training at a center suits companies that do not have a machine yet and want to learn before investing.
Do we need extra technical support after training?
Yes, it helps. New situations often come up in the first weeks of use, and a technical support channel lets you solve them quickly and avoid damaging the equipment.
